About dental implants replacements for lost teeth

Over the last 30 years dental implants have changed the whole concept of restoring lost teeth. A dental implant is basically a titanium rod that is inserted into the jaw bone to replace the roots of the teeth. The jaw bone grows into the hollow spaces in the rod and this integrates to become part of the Jaw. Implants have 25 years of proven function and success.

How long does it take?

Generally the integration of the implant takes 6 months BUT in certain cases we can immediately replace a tooth or teeth.

How do I look after my implants?

You need to treat the implant as a tooth but a very precious tooth, good oral hygiene is very important and we will give you all the correct instructions for looking after your implants.

How is it done?

Am I suitable for implants?

For most people the answer is 'yes' but we will give you a comprehensive examination of your mouth and medical history. We must look at the whole patient: we would not want you to spend effort, time and money on a new implant when the rest of your mouth is not healthy.
