Our approach at Hallcross Dental

At Hallcross Dental, we treat each arch as a complete, functional unit. While All-on-4 uses four implants per arch, we typically place more—enhancing stability, reducing risks, and minimizing the chance of future surgeries.

What are All-on-4 implants?

All-on-4 is an advanced technique using four strategically placed implants to support a full arch of teeth, with angled posterior implants maximizing existing bone and often avoiding grafting.

What are All-on-X implants?

All-on-X builds on this concept, using 4-6 implants per arch for greater support. At Hallcross, we prefer a customized approach, aiming for the most secure, long-term solution—often using more than four implants for maximum stability.

What is All on 4?

All-on-4 is an advanced, highly effective alternative to traditional dental implants, offering a complete smile transformation in just one day. Originally designed to use four strategically placed implants per arch, the technique has evolved, and at Hallcross Dental, we take it further. Drawing on two decades of experience with hundreds of All-on-4 cases each year, we now favour a more advanced All-on-X approach, placing between 4-6 implants per arch.

This method enhances support, distributes bite forces more evenly, and minimises the need for future surgeries. Unlike other centres, we do not charge per implant. Instead, we use the optimal number for long-term success. Even if you’ve been told you are not a candidate for dental implants due to low bone density, our All-on-X approach often bypasses the need for bone grafting, making it a reliable solution for many.

The full mouth implant process

  1. Initial consultation
Your journey begins with a comprehensive consultation, where we assess your oral health, discuss your goals, and determine if full mouth implants are the right solution for you.
  2. Advanced scanning & planning
We use cutting-edge digital scanners to create a 3D model of your mouth, which allows us to plan the precise placement of your implants. These are used in the manufacturing of surgical guides and stents for precise and reproducible treatment outcomes.
  3. Implant placement
On the day of your procedure, our skilled surgeons will carefully place the implants. Thanks to our advanced planning and onsite laboratory, we can often attach your new teeth the same day.
  4. Healing & follow-up
Over the next few weeks and months, your implants will integrate with your mouth. We will monitor your healing process closely to ensure everything progresses smoothly.
  5. Final restoration
Once your implants have fully healed, we will attach your final set of custom-designed teeth, giving you a permanent, natural-looking smile with the most aesthetic and long lasting materials.

Frequently asked questions

What are full mouth implants, and how do they differ from traditional dentures?

Full mouth implants, also known as All-on-4 or All-on-X implants, are a permanent solution for replacing an entire arch of teeth. Unlike traditional dentures, which rest on the gums and may slip or move, full mouth implants are securely anchored to the jawbone with dental implants, providing a stable, natural-looking, and long-lasting smile.

What is the difference between All-on-4 and All-on-X implants?

All-on-4 implants use four dental implants to support a full arch of replacement teeth, with two of the implants placed at an angle to maximise support. All-on-X implants are similar but offer more flexibility, allowing more than four implants to be used if needed for additional stability and support.

Am I a candidate for full mouth implants?

Most patients who are missing most or all of their teeth are candidates for full mouth implants. During your consultation, we will assess your oral health, bone density, and overall medical condition to determine if this treatment is right for you.

How long does the full mouth implant procedure take?

The procedure can often be completed in just one day. After your initial consultation and planning appointments, the actual implant placement and fitting of your new teeth can typically be done on the same day, thanks to our advanced scanning and photogrammetry technology.

Will I need bone grafting before getting full mouth implants?

Bone grafting is usually not necessary with All-on-4 or All-on-X implants because the implants are placed at angles that maximise existing bone structure. However, if you have significant bone loss, additional implants or procedures might be required, which we will discuss during your consultation.

How do I care for my full mouth implants?

Caring for full mouth implants is similar to caring for natural teeth. Regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups are essential to maintain the health of your implants and surrounding tissues. We’ll provide you with detailed instructions on how to care for your new smile.

How much do All on 4 dental implants cost?

All on 4 dental implants are a more cost-effective way to restore a full smile than some other treatments. At Hallcross Dental, All on 4 implants start from £130 per month with our patient finance option (subject to status). We are happy to discuss our payment options with you, and give you a more detailed estimate of cost prior to treatment.

Are All on 4 dental implants comfortable?

All on 4 implants feel just like your natural teeth, and are a comfortable fit in your mouth. They also function, chew and bite in the way you are used to your natural teeth doing, making it much easier for you to get used to the feel of them faster. All on Four implants do not press onto your gums like dentures can, making them a more comfortable option.

Are All on 4 dental implants better than dentures?

All on 4 implants can give you a secure and aesthetic smile for life. While dentures can be used to replace missing teeth, they often become loose and uncomfortable over time, making you feel self-conscious about eating or speaking in public. All on 4 implants can be used to replace or secure loose dentures for fantastic results.

What is an All on 4 dental implant?

All on 4 dental implants are a revolutionary way to give patients a full upper or lower arch of teeth without the need for bone grafts, unstable dentures or other treatments. We use the All on 4 implant system from Sweden and Martina®, an innovative company with market-leading implants of the highest quality.
